The Modern Nomad
A modern nomad is a wanderer with a purpose — a productive progressive. Their work is not bound to an office or a conference room. They balance the traditions of their society with the ethics infused from a digital world that connects everyone without boundaries. They feel a sense of responsibility to humanity but are as equally consumed by their uninhibited lifestyle. They are globalized, competitive and borderline braggadocious.
Our brand embodies two primary opposing themes: tradition and technology. We see this in our anchor product, Nomadi, an organizer fitted with an A5/A6 mobile charging powerbank.
Our Background
With a belief in the power of writing — that it forces you to clarify what you want and motivates you to take action — we were drawn to developing a lifestyle product that helps professionals keep organized and reach their potential in business.
There are plenty of stationery products out there, but we wanted to design a product that embodied the spirit of the traveller; a tool that gives you the connection and feeling that only a good pen and paper can give, while still embracing the growing role of technology in our lives.
3lasadu Defined
Sadu is a nomadic textile native to the Middle East region, with patterns drawing similarities from elementary prints found among the tribes of Africa and indigenous groups of the western hemisphere. 3lasadu (a'la sadu) is an Arabic phrase transliterated into English meaning 'on sadu'. The number three represents the Arabic Letter 'Ayn'. The sound is produced by pushing the back of your tongue near the opening of your throat.
The name was inspired initially by a marketing initiative. We thought by giving our products a more traditional backdrop, decision-makers of an older generation prone and exposed to the textiles in their childhood would identify. We found the hand-woven rigidity and ruggedness of the textile to also serve as a beautiful compliment to the processes and sheen quality found in PU textiles.
